JACKSON – Rep. Jim Marshall (R-Beaver/Butler) and Sen. Elder Vogel (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence) today announced a $120,000 Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) grant for additional development of Reservoir Park in Jackson Township, Butler County.

The funding will be used for construction of a parking area, trail and boardwalk; installation of play equipment with required safety surfacing; ADA access, landscaping, project sign and other related site improvements.

“Thanks to the DCNR funding, our beautiful outdoors will be more accessible and enjoyable for everyone,” Marshall said. “This recreational area enhances Jackson Township and the surrounding communities.”

The DCNR grant program is funded with a variety of state and federal funding sources including the Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation Fund, the Environmental Stewardship Fund, the federal Land and Water Conservation Fund, Pennsylvania Trails fund, Pennsylvania Heritage Area Program and the ATV Restricted Management Account Fund.

“Making significant investments in our recreational infrastructure is important to maintaining the quality life in Butler County. With this grant from DCNR, we will ensure that Reservoir Park will continue to provide a family-friendly environment for generations to come,” Vogel said.
