Veterans Outreach Hours
In a partnership with the Pennsylvania American Legion, I will be offering veterans affairs outreach hours, to active and retired military personnel, in the district office at 2811 Darlington Road, Suite 1, Beaver Falls, on the first Thursday of the month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and first Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

2022 dates include:

Oct. 6 & 7
Nov. 3 & 4  
Dec. 1 & 2

A service officer from the American Legion will be available to assist veterans with a variety of issues, including:
  •   VA claims for disability compensation.
  •   Disability increase and rating decision appeals.
  •   Veteran or surviving spouse pension.
  •   Burial and death benefits.
  •   Addition of dependents.
  •   Dependency and indemnity compensation.
  •   Other veterans' benefits.

Veterans do not need to be a member of the American Legion to receive these services.

Speaker is Jim Stoker with FOAC-ILLEA (Firearms Owners Against Crime - Institute for Legislative, Legal and Educational Action)

Stoker has had a long career in law enforcement and is well respected in his community and by his peers. Currently a licensed Federal Firearms Dealer, he brings a perspective of law enforcement to the issue of the sale of firearms as the owner/operator of CYA Holsters LLC and CYA Firearms (FFLD). The Beaver County Sheriff’s and District Attorney’s offices will be in attendance and available for questions following the seminar.

My office will be teaming up with the University of Pittsburgh’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) to host open office hours on Oct. 5, Nov. 2 and Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at my Chippewa Township district office (2811 Darlington Road, Suite 1) for consulting sessions with current and prospective business owners.

A representative from the SBDC will meet with interested individuals to discuss the aspects of running a successful business. This service is free of charge, and appointments last one hour. If you are interested, please call the district office at 724-847-1352.
